Tales

The Tales collections sit in a unique corner of Buffyverse lore. They aren’t a single storyline, nor do they share casts or continuity. Instead, they offer snapshots from across the entire chronology — some reaching further back than anything we’ve seen, some stretching into the far future, some brushing against moments from the shows, and others revealing memories of familiar figures like Angel, Spike and Drusilla. If these stories had been filmed, they’d have made perfect web‑series tie‑ins or short‑form anthology films, freed from budget and format to explore the world’s hidden corners.

Together, Tales of the Slayers and Tales of the Vampires illuminate both sides of the myth: the girls who stood alone against the dark, and the creatures who endured in its shadows. Some stories introduce entirely new faces; others deepen characters we thought we already understood. All of them expand the universe, shedding new light on the supernatural history that shaped Buffy and Angel’s world.

So now you have only one question left: when you step into these stories, do you walk with the forces of light… or has the darkness already found its way to you?

Welcome to The Watcher’s Guide, a resource, quite fittingly, back from the dead!

The original website shut down in 2004, following the cancellation of Angel. But Buffy the Vampire Slayer was no flash in the pan. It inspired and changed the way television was made and 30 years later, we’re still discussing the show and hoping for something new from the creative universe built over 254 episodes.

Firefly and Dollhouse also brought unique looks at the human condition in a fresh and innovative way, with a science-fiction twist, just as the BuffyVerse dealt with fantasy.

This website aims to be the ultimate resource for the five Mutant Enemy produced shows, to preserve their legacy, their characters and share it with the generations that have come since…
