Severin

“I’m not the bad guy. You are. If you hadn’t destroyed the Seed, I wouldn’t have to put any of these vamp freaks down. You don’t deserve the power you have. So I’m gonna take it.”

Severin’s powers awakened in tragedy: when his girlfriend Clare rose as a feral zompire after the destruction of the Seed, his latent ability to drain supernatural energy activated and killed her. Grief‑stricken and furious, he began hunting vampires across San Francisco, eventually drawing the attention of rogue Slayer Simone Doffler, who saw in him a weapon capable of weakening Buffy Summers herself.

What began as vengeance spiralled into obsession. Severin’s ability to siphon power made him a threat to Buffy, Spike, and even Illyria, whose time‑bending abilities he eventually stole. Convinced he could rewrite the past and undo the Twilight crisis — and the losses tied to it — he allied with Simone and later manipulated Xander, believing they shared a common wound. But Severin’s attempts to alter reality only destabilised it further, pushing the world toward collapse.

In the end, Severin realised the cost of what he’d set in motion. Unable to contain the magic he’d taken, he chose to use the last of his strength to accelerate the rebirth of the new Seed of Wonder, restoring magic to Earth and saving Dawn’s life. The effort consumed him completely. His final act was one of sacrifice — a tragic end for a young man who wanted only to undo a single moment of loss.
