Satsu

I won’t lie and say it’s easy. But I’m not the kind of person who can let innocent people die when I could help. Know who I learned that from? You.

Satsu was activated as a Slayer while still in school, the rush of power knocking her flat and changing her life forever. She joined Buffy Summers’ squad in Scotland, quickly proving herself one of the most skilled fighters in the organisation. Her admiration for Buffy deepened into romantic affection — a truth revealed when her kiss broke the spell that had trapped Buffy in a mystical sleep. Their brief relationship was complicated, tender, and ultimately shaped by Buffy’s responsibilities as leader.

After the Twilight crisis fractured the Slayer army, Satsu stepped into her own. She became the leader of the Tokyo squad, navigating supernatural threats, political fallout, and the emotional aftermath of loving someone she could never truly have. Her leadership was marked by competence, courage, and a willingness to adapt — even when it meant letting go of the cinnamon lip gloss that had once symbolised her feelings for Buffy.

In the new world that followed the fall of magic, Satsu joined the United States Armed Forces, using her experience to coordinate global defence against demonic incursions. She remained an ally to Buffy, even when their paths diverged, and proved time and again that she was more than a soldier or a Slayer — she was someone who refused to stand by while innocent people suffered, a lesson she credited to Buffy herself.
