“ROAR!”

First Appearance: Not Fade Away
When Los Angeles fell into a hell dimension, one of the Senior Partners’ greatest weapons was a massive dragon sent to kill Angel after the fall of the Circle of the Black Thorn. But in the chaos of that first battle, Angel realised the creature wasn’t evil — just another pawn forced into service. When the dragon later found Angel wounded and newly human, it carried him to safety, mistaking his delirious conversations with an imagined Cordelia Chase as introductions. From that moment on, the dragon believed its name was Cordelia, and Angel gained an unexpected ally.
Cordelia became Angel’s aerial support, guardian, and sometimes his only advantage against the Demon Lords who ruled the hell‑scarred city. The dragon fought Illyria, ferried Angel into battle, and stood beside Team Angel in their most desperate moments. Even when chained down to prevent interference, Cordelia broke free to defend Angel, tackling demons and turning the tide of fights that would have otherwise ended in slaughter. Fierce, loyal, and far more intelligent than anyone assumed, the dragon became a symbol of Angel’s refusal to give up — even in Hell.
Cordelia’s story ended in tragedy when the Senior Partners unleashed an army of dragons that tore her apart. But when time was reset, she returned, fighting alongside Angel, Spike, and Illyria to destroy the demon army and save Los Angeles. Afterward, Angel left her in the care of the Groosalugg, knowing that a creature so powerful — and so loyal — deserved protection. Cordelia the Dragon remains one of the strangest and most poignant allies Angel ever had: a monster who chose to be more.
