Look, I’m, uh, I’m rather busy a-at the moment, so, uh, I’ll see you on Monday at, at school…

Back to School!

Sarah reveals the status of the new series!

Welcome back Watchers! It’s been a while. I hope you’re all recharged after a droll January!

Here at the Watcher’s Guide, we’re aware that there’s been no actual news for quite some time, although there have been some nuggets of info revealed about Buffy: New Sunnydale. Firstly, while being interviewed on the podcast Gloss Angeles, Sarah Michelle Gellar spoke candidly about the continuation, again declaring that she still might not commit to the project if it’s not perfect. Have no fear though, Sarah’s just looking out for the fans – and wants everything perfect for the new potential series.

The set of Buffy: New Sunnydale in 2025!

The pilot for the new series was completed back in the summer of 2025. All projects take time, especially new ones resurrecting legacy heroines after all! We’d heard previously that the series could be aiming at a March 2027 release, to coincide with the original show’s 30th anniversary!

Charisma and James catch up!

Another sneaky tidbit may have come from James Marsters, aka Spike, himself. Interviewed by Charisma Carpenter on the latest episode of her podcast, covering his debut episode School Hard, James revealed he had been approached about a possible appearance. Keep your fingers crossed, folks…

Where Do We Go From Here?

Buffy and Willow: Disempowered!

Now, onto the future of the site. There’s still a lot more to come from Buffy and the Scoobies as they attempt to restore law and order to San Francisco. But, as you can imagine, doing that from inside a prison camp is easier said than done!

Angel and Fred: Thrown through time!
Titan’s UK Buffy Magazine – Issue 1

And just to cap it off, The Nevers is also being added to the website shortly too!

Whew! We’re going to be busy at Watcher Central.

See you in 2026!

Got a bit of schlub on your shoe there.

Welcome to The Watcher’s Guide, a resource, quite fittingly, back from the dead!

The original website shut down in 2004, following the cancellation of Angel. Now with a new show set in the BuffyVerse eagerly anticipated by fans old and new and featuring the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy, it’s time to spruce up The Watcher’s Guide for a new generation.

All the episodes have been added, along with notes, biographies and continuity references. But as always, one question remains… Where Do We Go From Here?
