Based on an idea by Season Nine writer Christos Gage and Drusilla actress Juliet Landau, the original story was entitled Run & Catch. It would have shown the attack that led to the death of Marianne, as seen in Family Reunion (Part 4), and recounted briefly in flashback in Death and Consequences (Part 1).

The full mini series never actually materialised, despite prep being done, covers being commissioned and interior sketches done on the title. But when Dark Horse Comics lost their Buffy and Angel licence to BOOM, the series was abandoned.

The original premise of the series was as follows:

“As Drusilla flees through the streets of London, her savagery is witnessed by a documentary filmmaker who becomes fixated on her. He wants to bring the story behind such a unique and mysterious specimen to the big screen! His hunt for Drusilla, past, present, and future, sets him on a path of no return!“
