You don’t cross Adelai Niska. If he tells you he has a job you take it, it’ll be worth the bucks, but double-cross him and you pay the ultimate price. Niska is a man who has no qualms about torture, drugs or murder, and is fiercely determined in his goals. On the two occasions that the crew of Serenity have encountered Niska, he’s paid them and they’ve left him hanging. He always gets his revenge, and tortured Mal and Wash once to get it. When the crew of Serenity invaded to save their men, Niska was left alive, but defenceless, although Mal regretted not killing the ‘old bastard’ while he had the chance.
