MELAKA FRAY

Haunted by her past mistakes, one of which got her twin brother Harth killed by the Lurk Icarus, Mel is a cat burglar, using her strangely incredible agility and strength to service the businesses of Gunther. This brings her into conflict with her older sister Erin, who is a police officer in Versi. When Urkonn approaches her and tells her of the Slayer legend, she is initially reluctant, but when events spiral of of control and her friend Loo is killed, she embraces her destiny. Horrified to discover that Harth is now a vampire in charge of a mission to open a gateway to Hell, Melaka has no choice but to battle her brother. Naturally she wins… for nothing could be more certain now… She is the Slayer.
ERIN FRAY

Erin Fray is the complete opposite of her sister, Melaka. As a police officer in Haddyn, Erin must uphold the law at all costs, that ultimately brings her into conflict with Mel. There is a deep resentment between the two girls, due to an incident that happened years earlier where Mel went hunting with her twin brother Harth… and Harth was killed. Now, as Mel reveals the truth about Harth’s fate, Erin must face up to her destiny and team up with her sister to stop the brother they thought was dead. And the bond that they forge as a result will be unbreakable.
HARTH FRAY

Years previously, Harth Fray was on a run with his twin sister Melaka and they came across the vampire Icarus. Outmatched, the two attempted to flee, but Icarus grabbed Harth and bit him, knocking Mel off the roof in the process. Unbeknown to Mel, Harth bit into Icarus’ ear and was sired. For years he monitored his sister, aware that she was the Slayer. He had been receiving the Slayer dreams instead of his twin and used them to his advantage. Preparing to open a gate to Hell, Harth launched a massive attack on Haddyn, but was repelled by Mel, Erin and the residents of Versi. Stunned at the resistance, Harth kissed Mel and fled into the shadows, no doubt to regroup until another day.
GUNTHER

Gunther is an enigma. A mutated human courtesy of the sun’s radiation, he runs a small industry that involves stealing and selling objects of importance and anything than can earn him some cash. Forced to live in water, in a giant tank, his operation is constantly watched by police including officer Erin Fray. Unfortunately, Gunther’s best runner happens to be Mel, Erin’s sister. When Fray questions Gunther about Loo’s murder, he admits that although he turned Mel in, he had nothing to do with Loo’s death. Mel knows it wasn’t him, however and as she kills Urkonn, the true killer, Gunther’s tank is smashed. Before she leaves the scene however, Melaka makes sure that her boss is still alive.
ICARUS

Icarus is a true legend. Taking his name from the fearless boy from Greek mythology, Icarus has long been the chief vampire in Haddyn. But he follows a master. Like all great villains, he has a leader to direct him, and that leader is none other than Harth Fray, a boy he himself sired years previously. Stunned by the power of this boy, Icarus has no choice but to follow the boy, the One Who Will Lead. When Icarus finally comes up against Melaka, he demands that she fight, but she doesn’t need to. As they begin heir duel, a car falls down from above him, severing Icarus’ head.
URKONN OF THE D’AVVRUS

Sent by his masters, the demons Vrill and Boluz, Urkonn of the D’Avvrus is a massively strong demon who finds Melaka Fray and tells her of her destiny. She reluctantly accepts, and he trains her as an impromptu Watcher would, informing her of the past Slayers, Lurks and giving her the mystical Scythe wielded centuries ago by Buffy Summers in Sunnydale, California. Embracing her destiny, Mel goes forth, but Urkonn sticks to her back. Eventually, after the danger has passed, Mel turns her attention to finding the killer of her friend Loo. It was Urkonn. Challenging him at Gunther’s den, Urkonn ends up dead at her feet. He trained her too well.
LOO

A young girl from a rough part of town, Loo idolised Melaka Fray and often emulated her. Severely affected by the radiation, Loo was blind in her right eye and was missing her left arm. In an effort to help her health, Mel would ‘appropriate’ medicine for her friend, who she treated like a little sister. When Mel arrived home from a mission, she found Loo dead, apparently killed by vampires. Throughout the final battle, Mel came up with a new theory: Loo could not have been killed by Lurks as the door was locked and they would have to have been invited. Turning around, she plunged her axe into the true killer: Urkonn…
