INFORMATION

In 1609, a young prostitute, dying of syphilis, received a visit from a priest who became known to her as the Master. He sired the girl and she became his disciple. He also gave her a new name: he called her Darla. Darla remained at the Master’s side for over a century, and somehow found herself in Ireland in the year 1753. There she encountered a young drunkard named Liam, who she sired… he became the vampire Angelus, the most vicious creature in history. Although she left him to remain at Angelus’ side, Darla returned to the Master when he summoned her, and continued her bloody swath of violence for centuries, even joined by the vampires Spike and Drusilla. In 1900, in China at the scene of the Boxer Rebellion, Darla discovered that Angelus now had a soul. Rejecting him, Darla went on her way, and by 1997 was back in the service of the Master, in Sunnydale, California. When the Slayer arrived in town, Darla met her end when Angel staked her to prevent her from killing Buffy. Four years later, Wolfram and Hart brought Darla back from Hell, albeit in human form. She was once again dying of syphilis, and Angel was torn between siring her again, or letting her die. Eventually, Wolfram and Hart brought in Drusilla to sire Darla and when she rose again, she continued to cause chaos with her fellow vampire. After a night of passion with Angel, Darla left Los Angeles, but returned, heavily pregnant a few months later. Feeling love for her unborn child due to it’s human soul, Darla sacrificed herself to save her child, and staked herself, leaving baby Connor in her wake.

Welcome to The Watcher’s Guide, a resource, quite fittingly, back from the dead!

The original website shut down in 2004, following the cancellation of Angel. Now with a new show set in the BuffyVerse eagerly anticipated by fans old and new and featuring the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy, it’s time to spruce up The Watcher’s Guide for a new generation.

All the episodes have been added, along with notes, biographies and continuity references. But as always, one question remains… Where Do We Go From Here?
