Brother of Tucker Wells, Andrew was a student at Sunnydale High who survived the graduation of the senior class, although no one seemed to notice. In 2001, Andrew teamed up with Jonathan Levinson and Warren Mears in an attempt to defeat Buffy and take over Sunnydale. The Trio proved to be nothing more than slight annoyances to the Slayer, and in actuality, their true aim was a robbery attempt on the takings of the local fairground. Buffy thwarted the plan and Andrew attempted to escape with Warren who he was apparently in love with. Andrew was imprisoned with Jonathan, but the pair later escaped when Willow became obsessed with killing them for their cooperation with Warren, who had killed Tara. Andrew and Jonathan barely escaped to Mexico, where Andrew was visited by the First in the form of Warren. Persuaded by the image to return to Sunnydale and unearth the Seal of Danthalzar, Andrew and Jonathan returned and requiring a sacrifice to open the Seal, Andrew murdered Jonathan. Visited by the First on several occasions, Andrew found himself ‘imprisoned’ in the Summers’ home, but gradually became part of the group, preparing to die against the Turok-Han in the final battle against the First. During the battle, Andrew was saved by Anya, who gave her life for him. Andrew later became a Watcher-in-training, and was sent by Giles to Los Angeles to secure the Slayer Dana who had escaped from a psychiatric hospital. Andrew took Dana home with him after a lengthy confrontation. Andrew later turned up in Rome, living with Buffy and Dawn and enjoying trysts with Italian girls, but offered Angel and Spike one piece of advice before they left: get over the girl.
