“I have no speech. No name. I live in the action of death, the blood cry, the penetrating wound. I am destruction. Absolute… Alone.“

Also known as The First Slayer; Sineya; First of the Ones
Played by Sharon Ferguson
First Appearance: Restless
Sineya, the First of the Ones, was the original Slayer — a young girl chosen by her tribe and subjected to a brutal ritual in which demon essence was forced into her body, awakening the power that would define the Slayer line. Guided and controlled by the Shadow Men, she became the prototype for every Slayer who followed, her death marking the beginning of the lineage they would continue to manipulate for centuries. Her presence lingered in the collective memory of the Slayer line, a primal force bound to the origins of their power.
In 2000, Buffy Summers and her allies tapped directly into Sineya’s essence during their battle against Adam, merging with the First Slayer’s power to defeat him. From that moment onward, Sineya appeared repeatedly in Buffy’s dreams, visions and subconscious landscapes. These encounters were often cryptic, sometimes confrontational, but always tied to Buffy’s evolving understanding of her role, her power and the legacy she carried.

Over the years, Sineya’s dream‑messages served as warnings, lessons and glimpses into the deeper nature of the Slayer line. She appeared when Buffy faced existential threats, when the boundaries of magic shifted, and when the Slayer’s identity itself was in flux. Though her guidance was rarely gentle, it was always purposeful, rooted in the ancient logic of the power she embodied.
A few months after the destruction of the Seed of Wonder and the end of magic, Sineya reached out to Buffy again — this time through a faerie messenger. She revealed that the Scythe held the key to restoring magic to the world, but clarified that the task belonged not to Buffy, but to Willow. Even in this moment, Sineya’s guidance reinforced the idea that the Slayer’s power was part of a larger balance, not a solitary burden.

After magic returned, Sineya appeared in a vision to Billy Lane, a young vampire hunter who was not a Slayer at all. Giles interpreted this as a sign that the rules of magic — and the rules governing the Slayer line — had changed. Sineya’s acceptance of Billy as an ally suggested a broader, more inclusive understanding of who could stand within the Slayer’s circle of power.
Across centuries, Sineya remained a presence that transcended life, death and the shifting nature of magic. Whether appearing in dreams, visions or omens, she continued to guide those who carried — or fought alongside — the power she first embodied, her voice echoing through every evolution of the Slayer legacy.
