Leader and chief scientist on the Initiative project situated in Sunnydale, for years Maggie Walsh posed as a psychology professor whose students included Buffy, Willow and Oz. Her teaching assistants, Riley, Forrest and Graham were also Initiative operatives. Maggie teamed up with her colleague, Dr. Angleman in creating the demon/human/robotic hybrid known only as Adam, who was intended to be the first in a new master race. Sensing that Buffy could be a threat to her creation, Maggie attempted to trap Buffy with demons and have her killed, but Buffy escaped and Maggie’s true plans were revealed to Riley. Determined not to let Buffy ruin her plans, Maggie withdrew to her lab, where Adam skewered her on his built-in pikes and killed her. Maggie’s corpse was later used as a servant for the destructive Adam, but was destroyed when Buffy pulled out a tube carrying vital fluid to the zombie’s brain.
