The second principal of Sunnydale High, Snyder, who’s first name could be Richard, was a ruthless bully who pressured his students and came down heavily on murders and death – and also smoking. He was in the service of the Mayor, although he knew nothing of Wilkins’ ascension into the form of the demon Olvikan. His moment of glory came in 1998 when he expelled Buffy from school, but he was forced to relinquish and allow Buffy re-entry. During the graduation ceremony, Snyder finally stood alongside his senior class and when Wilkins transformed, Snyder stood his ground – until the demon Mayor literally swallowed him whole.
