Given to her Watcher, Sam Zabuto, at a young age by her parents, Kendra Young was a Potential Slayer whose training was very strict and precise. In 1998, Zabuto sent Kendra to Sunnydale to stop the plans of the vampire known as Spike, who had summoned the Order of Taraka to kill Buffy. Buffy and Kendra were astonished to learn that Kendra had been summoned as the Slayer following Buffy’s brief death the year before, but eventually reconciled their differences and battled the Order together. Some months later, Kendra returned to Sunnydale to stop the rise of Acathla. While Buffy battled Angelus in a nearby graveyard, Kendra defended the library as Willow attempted to restore his soul. Unfortunately, a cadre of vampires attacked, and outnumbered, Kendra’s throat was cut by Drusilla, who left her body on the library floor.
