INFORMATION

Jonathan Levinson was never noticed much at Sunnydale High, and when he was, it was usually at the expense of a joke or insult directed at him. After years of torment from his fellow students, Jonathan was finally noticed when he took a shotgun into the clock tower of Sunnydale High and prepared to kill himself. Buffy, concerned that he was in fact going to hurt other people, stopped him, citing that the reason people didn’t notice him was because they were too busy dealing with their own problems. Encouraged by her words, Jonathan became more popular on campus, presenting the award of Class Protector to Buffy at the Prom. In the final battle against Mayor Wilkins on Graduation Day, Jonathan showed a vast amount of courage and sheltered Cordelia from the explosion that destroyed the school. Nearly a year later, Jonathan cast a spell, changing reality so that he became a national celebrity and a famous talent within Sunnydale. Eventually, Buffy discovered the truth and the spell was broken, leaving everyone extremely bitter that Jonathan had toyed with their memories. Over a year later, in 2001, Jonathan teamed up with Warren Mears and Andrew Wells with the intention of taking over Sunnydale and becoming super-villains. Each member of the Trio specialised in a particular field, and Jonathan had become quite a magician in his time away. As the months went by, Jonathan began to notice how Warren and Andrew were pushing him aside, and they attempted to flee and leave him facing robbery charges. When Warren killed Tara and Willow embraced the dark arts to seek revenge, she came after Jonathan and Andrew and despite the fact that he wished to face the charges against him, Jonathan and Andrew fled to Mexico. Months later, they returned to Sunnydale, plagued with nightmares of the Seal of Danthalzar and the First Evil. While the pair unearthed the Seal in the basement of the rebuilt Sunnydale High, Jonathan noted that he missed the people who had ignored him in school and that he missed the experience, despite it’s pain and misery. Before Jonathan could react, Andrew, prompted by the First, stabbed his friend and he died. His body was discovered weeks later by Robin Wood, who gave Jonathan Levinson a decent burial.

Welcome to The Watcher’s Guide, a resource, quite fittingly, back from the dead!

The original website shut down in 2004, following the cancellation of Angel. Now with a new show set in the BuffyVerse eagerly anticipated by fans old and new and featuring the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy, it’s time to spruce up The Watcher’s Guide for a new generation.

All the episodes have been added, along with notes, biographies and continuity references. But as always, one question remains… Where Do We Go From Here?
