Jesse was part of a close knit circle that included Xander Harris and Willow Rosenberg. The three were considered the ‘losers’ throughout their scholastic lives, and as a result stuck together right up until 1997, when Buffy Summers arrived in town. Jesse was unsuccessful with the girls of Sunnydale High, and fell victim to Darla, who returned him to the Master. Jesse was sired and took part in a raid on the Bronze to aid the Master’s ascension to the upper world during the Harvest. While arguing with Xander about the pros of being a vampire, a girl ran past Jesse and knocked him into Xander’s stake, turning him to dust.
