“You just can’t stand the fact that I’m my own person now. There comes a time in a woman’s life when she realizes she has to take that next step. I’ve taken it. I’ve found the real me, and I like her.“

Played by Mercedes McNab
First Appearance: The Harvest
Harmony Kendall began as one of Cordelia Chase’s Cordettes, a ditzy, blonde and often cruel presence at Sunnydale High who delighted in mocking those beneath her social tier. When Cordelia began dating Xander Harris, Harmony seized control of the Cordettes and even turned on Cordelia herself. During the Mayor’s ascension, she fought alongside the senior class and was bitten in the chaos, later resurfacing as a newly sired vampire dating Spike, who used and belittled her. After discovering him with Drusilla, Harmony attempted revenge, failed spectacularly, and left Sunnydale behind.
In Los Angeles, Harmony tried and failed to reform, betraying Cordelia and Angel before drifting through Mexico and eventually returning to become Angel’s secretary at Wolfram & Hart. She played a small but notable role in the final battle with the Circle of the Black Thorn, seducing Marcus Hamilton and revealing Angel’s plan. Fired but not embittered, she left with a recommendation and a breezy farewell, as ever convinced she would land on her feet.

Her next reinvention came when she accidentally exposed vampires to the world by biting comedian Andy Dick in front of a paparazzo. Overnight, Harmony became the star of Harmony Bites, a reality show that catapulted her into global fame. When a newly activated Slayer named Soledad tried to kill her at a party, Harmony staked her in self‑defence and used the media frenzy to turn public opinion against Slayers, positioning herself as a spokesperson for vampire rights. Interviews with Anderson Cooper and Stephen Colbert cemented her as a cultural force, even as she unwittingly aligned herself with Twilight’s anti‑magic agenda.
Though Harmony Bites was cancelled, Harmony’s celebrity endured. She became a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, then a leading advocate of Reform Vampirism — a movement promoting consensual feeding and a ban on siring. Relocating to Kensington, she joined the judging panel of Britain’s Got Talent. When blackmailed with a video of her siring a lover, Harmony sought help from Angel and Faith, fearing the scandal would destroy the Reform movement. In return, she offered to help rehabilitate Angel’s public image, still tarnished by the Twilight crisis.

Harmony’s personal life remained as chaotic as ever. She briefly rekindled a fling with Spike during his time in London, and after the return of magic she visited Buffy to negotiate new rules for the next generation of vampires. She then stole the Slayer Handbook, intending to use it to make herself universally adored, though Clem gently argued she deserved genuine affection. He did, however, use the handbook to make unicorns real, much to her delight. During the Supernatural Crisis Act, Harmony embarked on an international tour and remained abroad, last seen in Paris with Clem, happily ignoring the turmoil in America.
Centuries later, Harmony’s improbable longevity saw her survive into the 23rd century. When the Scooby Gang travelled to Haddyn, they found her enthroned as “the Queen,” greeting them warmly and recounting the fates of their friends as preserved in vampire lore. Even across eras and apocalypses, Harmony remained unmistakably herself — vain, resilient, opportunistic, and somehow always at the centre of whatever world she happened to inhabit.
