One of the Initiative scientists who created Adam, Dr. Francis Angleman assumed command of the mission after Professor Maggie Walsh was murdered by their own secret creation. When Buffy infiltrated the Initiative structure to discover the truth about Maggie’s death and to clear her name in the murder inquiry, Adam also returned to the complex, battling the Slayer to a stand still and killing Angleman. Weeks later, Buffy encountered a zombified Angleman who served Adam, but dispatched him easily when she removed a tube of vital fluid from his corpse that was keeping it animated.
