Allan Finch was the deputy mayor of Sunnydale, and the right hand man of Richard Wilkins III, the Mayor of Sunnydale who would eventually ascend into the form of the demon Olvikan in an attempt to rule the world. As the Mayor’s aide, Finch knew all of his secrets and often sat in on conversations between Wilkins and his vampire assistant Mr. Trick. Eventually, however, Finch became concerned that he himself would end up dead in the Mayor’s insane quest for power and was apparently looking to aid the Slayer’s circle with information that would aid them in stopping Wilkins. Unfortunately, Faith, believing Finch to be a vampire, accidentally staked him in the heart, killing him. Unable to accept the truth, Faith weighted the body and dumped it in the ocean, where it was discovered shortly afterwards. Finch’s true intentions that night remained a mystery, although Faith would be haunted by her deed for many years.
