Connor Angel

You gotta do what you can to protect your family. I learned that from my father

Connor was born under impossible circumstances — the son of two vampires, Angel and Darla. His very existence defied the laws of the Buffyverse, marking him as a being of prophecy and danger. As an infant, he was kidnapped by Angel’s ancient enemy Holtz and taken to the hell dimension of Quor’toth. There, time moved differently, and Connor grew into a hardened warrior, shaped by brutality, survival and Holtz’s teachings. When he returned to Los Angeles as a teenager, he was fierce, distrustful and deeply conflicted about his heritage, torn between the father who wanted to love him and the man who had raised him to hate.

Connor’s relationship with Angel was fraught with manipulation, betrayal and trauma. He oscillated between ally and adversary, manipulated by Jasmine, by Holtz’s legacy, and by his own unresolved rage. His path led to a devastating confrontation in which Connor attempted to destroy himself and the world around him. Angel, desperate to save his son, struck a deal that rewrote Connor’s life. His memories were replaced with those of a normal upbringing, giving him a loving family, stability and peace — a chance to grow into the person he might have been without Quor’toth’s scars.

Though he lived a new life, Connor’s true nature remained. When the final battle against the Circle of the Black Thorn approached, he returned to fight alongside Angel, his memories restored at the moment he needed them most. He fought with clarity, strength and a sense of purpose that finally aligned with who he wanted to be. After the battle, he remained in Los Angeles, carrying both sets of memories — the pain of his past and the peace of his second chance — and trying to reconcile them into a single identity.

When Los Angeles was dragged into hell, Connor was pulled back into the fight. He battled demon lords, protected civilians and fought beside Angel’s fractured team. His resilience, forged in Quor’toth, made him uniquely suited to the chaos of the Fall. He confronted Gunn, Illyria and the horrors unleashed across the city, and in the final confrontation with Illyria’s apocalyptic transformation, Connor was killed — a brutal reminder of the cost of the war. But when Angel forced the Senior Partners to reverse time, Connor was restored to life, carrying the memories of the Fall even as the world returned to normal.

After the city’s restoration, Connor continued to walk the line between his two lives. He returned to college, lost ties with his adoptive family and tried to build a future that wasn’t defined by violence. Yet he remained connected to Angel and the supernatural world. When Willow, Faith and Angel sought his help to navigate the hell dimension of Quor’toth, Connor returned to the place that had shaped him, guiding them through its dangers with the confidence of someone who had survived it once before. His knowledge proved essential, and his bond with Angel deepened into something steadier and more honest.

Connor’s journey became one of integration — warrior and student, son of a vampire and child of a loving human family, forged in hell yet striving for humanity. He fought alongside the Scoobies and Slayers when needed, but he also carved out a life beyond prophecy and trauma. Across death, resurrection, rewritten memories and cosmic battles, Connor remained one of the Buffyverse’s most complex figures — a young man who refused to be defined by the darkness he was born into, and who kept choosing to be better than the world expected.
